Mobi Host Release — Fall 2026
A lot has changed at Mobi since our last Host Release, and our Host tools are continuing to evolve alongside our growing marketplace.
With our Fall 2026 Host Release, we’re introducing new ways for Hosts to manage their vehicles, communicate with Guests, customize their pricing, and simplify the day-to-day work of operating a fleet on Mobi.
The goal behind these updates is simple: give Hosts more control, reduce operational friction, and help our partners get more out of every vehicle on Mobi.
Here’s what’s new this fall.
📱 Mobi Is Now on iOS & Android
Mobi is officially available on both iOS and Android, creating a faster and more seamless way to access the marketplace on the go.
For Hosts, this first release introduces a lighter version of the Host experience, with additional Host tools and functionality planned for upcoming releases. In the meantime, Hosts can continue to access the full suite of Host tools through the Mobi Web App.
The mobile app is also an important investment in growing demand across the marketplace. A better mobile experience makes it easier for Guests to discover vehicles, complete bookings, manage their rentals, and stay connected throughout their trip.
For Hosts, that means a better Guest experience and more opportunities to drive bookings and utilization across your fleet.
💬 Host–Guest Messaging Is Now Built Into Mobi
Hosts and Guests can now communicate directly through Mobi.
Hosts can message Guests through the Mobi mobile app or access the new Inbox directly from the Host Portal on the Web App.
We encourage Hosts and Guests to keep rental-related communication within Mobi whenever possible. Beyond making communication more convenient, keeping conversations on-platform gives Mobi’s Trust & Safety team better visibility when assistance is needed.
If an issue arises during a rental, our team can better understand the context of the conversation and more effectively support both sides of the marketplace.
As mobile adoption grows, we expect in-app messaging to become an increasingly important part of the Mobi rental experience.
🛡️ A New Mobi Protection Plan & Claims Process
Claims are one of the most important moments in the Host experience. When a vehicle is involved in an incident, our priority is to make the process as clear and efficient as possible while helping get that vehicle properly repaired and back on the road.
As of August 1, 2026, Mobi transitioned to a new Protection Plan and claims process built around that goal.
These updates are focused specifically on Host vehicle damage claims, giving Mobi greater oversight of the repair and resolution process. Liability claims will continue to be handled through our existing insurance partners.
Hosts and Guests can now begin the claims process directly from the Rental Page through a guided intake experience designed to collect the right information and documentation from the start. Behind the scenes, we’ve also increased our focus on timely communication, quality-control reviews, claim resolution, and payouts.
We’re continuing to invest in this experience as well. A new Claims Progress Portal is currently in development, which will give Hosts greater visibility into the status and progress of their claims.
The goal isn't to make claims complicated. It's to create a cleaner, more accountable process that produces quality outcomes and gets vehicles back on the road efficiently.
🏷️ Customize Discounts for Each Vehicle
Every vehicle is different, and your pricing strategy should be able to reflect that.
Hosts can now set discounts individually at the vehicle level from the Vehicle Edit page.
That means you can create different discount strategies based on the type of vehicle, its pricing, utilization, market conditions, or your own goals for the fleet.
For vehicles where you want to prioritize longer rentals, stronger long-term discounts can help attract more committed Guests and encourage longer bookings. Other vehicles can maintain a completely different discount structure.
You can adjust these discounts at any time as your fleet and pricing strategy evolve.
🕒 Set Your Own Operating Hours
Hosts now have more control over when vehicle pickups and returns can take place.
You can set your preferred pickup and return hours for each day of the week, allowing your Mobi schedule to better fit the way you operate your business.
Want different hours on weekends? Prefer to stop vehicle handoffs after a certain time? Want Sunday off? Your operating hours can now reflect those preferences.
Your vehicles can still appear in search results outside of your operating hours, helping you maintain visibility while ensuring Guests understand when vehicle handoffs are available.
Your available times are also displayed directly on the vehicle page to help set expectations before a reservation is made.
Host Tip: Keep your operating hours accurate and up to date to help avoid scheduling conflicts and create a smoother pickup and return experience.
🛣️ Toll Processing & Collection — Beta
Toll management can become increasingly time-consuming as a fleet grows, so we’re working on making it easier.
Mobi has begun beta testing a new toll processing and collection system with select Hosts across several markets.
The system is designed to reduce the manual work involved in reviewing toll activity, matching tolls to the appropriate Mobi rentals, and collecting those charges from Guests.
Most importantly, we're building this as another tool available to Hosts at no additional cost.
This feature remains a work in progress. We’ll continue gathering feedback from participating Hosts, refining the experience, and expanding access as we prepare it for a broader release.
🔎 Highlights Worth Revisiting
Alongside the new features in our Fall release, there are a few existing Host tools and resources worth keeping on your radar.
📊 Vehicle Performance Dashboard
Running a successful fleet starts with understanding how each vehicle is performing.
The Vehicle Performance Dashboard gives Hosts greater visibility into performance across their fleet. You can:
- View performance metrics for individual vehicles.
- Track earnings and booking activity over time.
- Identify your strongest-performing vehicles and opportunities to improve underutilized ones.
- Use real performance data to make more informed decisions around pricing, availability, and fleet growth.
Whether you manage a few vehicles or a larger fleet, the goal is to give you better information to understand what’s working and where there may be opportunities to improve.
🛡️ Off-Rent Insurance Options
Generating more revenue is one side of running a healthy carsharing business. Controlling your operating costs matters too.
Mobi works with insurance partners that may be able to provide Hosts with more cost-effective off-rent insurance options for their vehicles.
Availability and pricing can vary depending on your market, vehicles, and fleet size.
If you’re interested in exploring options that may help reduce your off-rent insurance costs, contact our Host team at hosts@drivemobi.com.
Continuing to Build for Hosts
Our Host community includes everyone from individual vehicle owners to professional fleet operators managing dozens of vehicles. As Mobi grows, we want the tools available to our Hosts to grow with it.
That means continuing to focus on more control over your business, better communication with Guests, less operational friction, better information, and tools that help you operate and grow more efficiently.
Many of the improvements in this release started with feedback directly from our Host community. We pay close attention to where Hosts are spending unnecessary time, where friction exists, and what we can build to make operating on Mobi easier.
If there’s something that would make managing your vehicles on Mobi easier or improve the economics of your business, we want to hear about it. Reach our Host team anytime at hosts@drivemobi.com.
Thank you to our Hosts for continuing to build with Mobi.
